Assistance with Medication
All care workers at Nurse at Home have thorough training in the management and administration of medication and are able to assist people with their prescription medicines including dossett boxes, blister packs and the preparation of liquid medication.
The care we provide is person-centred and seeks to promote independence where possible but our staff are happy to assist where people are required to take many different types of medication a day and at different times of the day. Errors, such as the wrong dosage, taking the wrong drug, or not taking the drug on time, can have serious consequences.
Nurse at Home care assistants receive comprehensive training from Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians and use approved electronic Medicine Administration Records (eMAR) to ensure the accurate recording of medications.
